Stapeley Gardens, Nantwich

Overview

Stapeley Gardens is a development of smaller apartments and luxury family homes, in a historic market town in South Cheshire.

Stapeley Gardens was the former Stapeley Water Gardens Garden Centre, a well-known local landmark that had been operational for over 45 years.  It is situated in Nantwich, a small historic market town in south Cheshire renowned for its historic buildings and with over 38 hectares of conservation area.

Stapeley Gardens comprises 318 units, and delivers a diverse housing mix including 1 and 2 bedroom apartments alongside 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom houses. The development provides 87 affordable homes, with 56 sold to a registered social landlord and 31 low cost affordable homes.

Promoting sustainable transport is at the heart of this development. Homes have been set within a movement system through the site, which provides links between roads, footpaths, public transport routes and green corridors. People are encouraged to walk, through pedestrian linkages that integrate into the wider locality and a safe, attractive and well cared for public realm.

Extensive mitigation works have been carried out in order to protect a large population of Great Crested Newts which inhabited the site. The species have successfully been translocated locally, maintaining the biodiversity of the area.
