Ashmeade Park, Pontefract

Overview

Ashmeade Park is a truly sustainable neighbourhood delivered by our Yorkshire East division and which has won NHBC Quality Awards for two consecutive years.

Ashmeade Park will have a range of two, three and four bedroom homes, ultimately providing 170 new homes, with completion anticipated for June 2020. It is ideally located, situated just five minutes from Pontefract’s town centre and within a mile of the railway station. It is also close to both the A1 and M62 motorways, providing good connections to Wakefield, Leeds and Doncaster.

During the initial stages of construction, we worked closely with local archaeologists who discovered a significant Roman settlement at the site, along with a large amount of pottery. Our priority was to ensure the preservation of these artefacts, which show the history of the local area, and they will be on display at Pontefract Museum for the community and visitors to enjoy.

The creation of a sustainable neighbourhood is also key to the success of delivering Ashmeade Park. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on 20% of homes to provide a renewable energy source, whilst the provision of electric car charging points and bicycle anchors will encourage the use of alternative and environmentally friendly transport methods.
