The Courthouse, London

Overview

The Courthouse is a spectacular 11-storey development occupying the former site of the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

With both the original and the new building occupying the entire site footprint, significant constraints were placed on each of the demolition, logistics and construction aspects.

Barratt London’s construction expertise, together with a skilful and agile planning approach, proved instrumental in ensuring the delivery of this complicated scheme. A meticulous programme, and a clear focus on delivery, meant the 11 levels of the concrete frame were erected in just 22 weeks. The development highlights our expertise in delivering highly complex, technically challenging schemes, to tight timescales.

The Courthouse comprises 129 luxury studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses – most with outdoor space and many with breath-taking views over the Houses of Parliament and the iconic London skyline. The building has a double-height foyer, concierge service, fitness suite and underground car park with car stacker. The courtyard garden features an impressive bronze sculpture by the artist Tom Price.
