Integration

The integration of Barratt and Wilson Bowden is progressing rapidly and is ahead of plan.

The new organisation structure and management of the housebuilding business, comprising over 30 operating divisions, is in place. Re-branding has been completed as has the reduction of head office and operational support costs.

Our integration plan ensures that the combined Group delivers the anticipated synergies and the strategic benefits of the acquisition as quickly as possible ensuring that the Group is well positioned to drive organic growth.

Our enlarged Group is focused on two strong national brands for its house building activities across Great Britain, Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes. Our strong local brand, Ward Homes, is retained in Kent.

The KingsOak brand was dropped from the business and its activities integrated with those of the Barratt and David Wilson branded operations as appropriate.

A reorganisation of the regional network of divisional offices is creating optimally sized house building divisions. This has involved some closures and merging of existing offices.

All the Group’s housebuilding divisions operate within a unified management structure reporting to six Regional Managing Directors who in turn report to the Executive Directors North and South.

Wilson Bowden Developments, the commercial development business, reports directly to Mark Clare, Chief Executive, and is run as a separate unit but with a specific brief to work with the housebuilding divisions to deliver extra value.
